Professional car detailing - private lesson by KC (new CBU car paint defects)

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS - before you visit malaysia

Climate?
The climate of Malaysia is hot and humid throughout the year, the highest SPF Sun block is recommended, Temperature ranging from 21°C (70°F) to about 35°C (95°F). Occasional rain during the period between Oct~Feb helps to bring down the temperature & usually last than an hour. Humidity between 75% and 100%!

Clothing?
Light clothing is recommended, golf cap, sunglasses & umbrella will reduce the heat of the day.

It was another hot afternoon, 32 degrees Celsius , humid & stuffy day

This is a brand new Suzuki Swift sport, fully import from Japan, which delivered to my friend. Good looking little ride. But later we discover a can of hidden worms – paint defect on a new ride, paint transfers…..more & more
Image

I got to know him, through one of my public detailing session & he contacted me to him detail her.

Upon meeting up & viewing the car at night, without much street light....only with my little torch light, i discover patches of paint ..on the front engine hood. almost covered 1/3 of the right hood, only found out after his 1st wash & without realizing during the delivery time, he already complaint to the car sales man (of this defects) & he actually drove this to Megs detailing centre (they even did some wet sanding to demo to the owner) but not complete restore
what happen was ...the hood was repainted that quaterly & the car sales claims that it was some overspray......OVER SPRAY WHAT????? some paint flew from the car besides???? make no sense

so last sunday, he came over to my place & since another forumer called me ( i invited him along & gave both some private detailing lesson)

Car Detailing Lesson Guide
1. Washing
2. Cleaning – claying
3. Correction – paint defects, (removing swirls, water stains, over sprayed paints & minor scratches) Rotary hands on
4. Polishing - to restore the gloss
5. Protecting – opti sealing, wax

Dare you to view - from ZERO to HERO by KC (restorations on a doomed CRV)

Another secret reveal how I brought this ZERO to HERO

you are about to witness in history for what took place, which was never reveal to you before.

I do not know whether should this be in our history or national detailing archive ............

Let me warn you before hand what you are gonna to see, will change your perspective of believe or not......PG-18, and luckily not R rated

Some of you remembered, back in Feb, during the Chinese new year week beak (holiday) i went back to my in laws house for reunion, all i remember was a couple of dinners & rest...of it never stayed in my MIND (perhaps I have be ERASED by the eraser - Arnold S)

that 7 days (seven ) I detail & corrected 6 cars.. everything involve Makita Rotary Machines & compound & polisher products..so this is not a magic nor another monkey tales Car detailer: 21 February 2010

if i were to gauge this, probably this is the most elaborate detail among the rest i did in that week.. i dont have the lambo nor another aston...but simply a DD (daily drive car)

a wreck car....to a show room condition

without further delays let me bring you thru....what i went thru the fires like hell to get this detail:- (pls pardon me of use of certain words i do not mean to provoke nor sound un ethically, as it is only the feelng i am feeling now even as i write)

You know this year has been extremely hot (close to 38 degree celcius which the average was 36) & quite a dry spell

as eraly as 7 in the morning, went out to bring this 14 years Honda CRV back, this is was one of the SUV everyone wil eye on during that era, probably car theft would also like - as it was very demanding)

but now, like any other Herbie...story....a sight miss turn..a loose nut that cos the engine leak & failed....trun this into quit a junk yard situation

not too bad...the paint look abit dull

ANOTHER IDIOTIC VANDALISM

this is probably sign by 'the mask of Zoro' with a sharp & pointy objects, which cuts through paint

annotation

in Malaysia - there is such a thing called "teach you a lesson" where the robin-hood of the street will give u scratched on your paint if you unintentionally obstructing others or some may even do it out of jealousy (or revenge as they have got it from others) this irresponsible Hooligans who's itchy hand will not sleep till they scratched some body cars.

You dont know how heart sick to see this on your own ride (speak as one of the victim)

since the condition is so bad...lets send the car to road side washed ( thanks to the cheap & good labored contributed more to this paint)

The Honda CR-V is a compact crossover SUV manufactured by the Japanese company Honda since 1996. It was loosely derived from the Honda Civic to satisfy a public demand for a sport-utility vehicle from Honda
read more hereHonda CR-V - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

NOW would you buy this at a premium?? no body would like to eventake a look anymore

unless something is done about it

DOOMED & MUST SENT FOR REPAINTING..........only new coat of paint ...only if i knew how to repaint ...only i knew not to park & get scratched by some irresponsible Hooligans who's itchy hand will not scratched my ride

only if i KNEW ( this is a very power consolations)

MY DEFINITIONS NOW is to get her corrected & detail to this

this is one of the after pic

more damaging pics

more heart sick

more abused pictures

just simply more pics that invites butterflies into your stomach

by this time...i was already singing

"amazing grace...how sweet the sound that saves a wretched like me.........................''

does this look lost enough

My uncles in law, always wanted a SUV, got a relative, who happend to drive this in KL city (2 years ago when they got this) you know the rest of the story...vandalism

they have decided to send this to repainted but somehoe it was delayed

till i found her

dont she fel like herbie when she is down & out

clay began ONR as lube...diluting 2 ounces with 500 ml of water & sprayed for more lube

my intervention plan

Osren Multi purpose cleaner with assorted brushes to cleans emblem & hard stained area

Optimun no rinse was as Lube with mild clay

Quick wipe down with ONR rinseless wash & 2 micro fibers to dry

Paint correction - Megs 105 with double sided LC wool on rotary start

speed 600 to spread, 1700 with gradual movement & speed (repeated on some severely scratched area

then step down to

Rotary with Lake country Yellow colour cutting foam for removing swirls & Random Deep isolated scratches (RIDs) with Meguiars M 205 SMAT polish ....speed 600 to spread, 1400 with gradual movement & speed , finishing off at 1400 with moderate movement

paint polishing - rotary & Lake country polishing foam pad at speed 600 to spread the products & Speed 1000 move moderately with pressure & backing off to speed 600 with light feathering off

Protections -

i only got nxt 2.0 -

strengthen with M135 ( UQD for non- detailer)

THIS IS A TRADE SECRET..........I hope you understand why do you need to pay so much to get a car detail

after a apc washed -

followed by Optimum ONR No rinse wash wash & clay at the same time

 pics before began .....

all plastic trim is wrap by news paper....as i did not expect such a heavy correction work...to prevent compound / olish splattered & stained any plastic or rubber trims

wracked side steps

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

BEFORE -

AFTER

after interior MPC brush off & detail by gold class

HOPE is a POWERFUL WORD....esp to a detailer

BEFORE

something can be done

Head light oxidized & many workshop would asked you to change

after sanding down - M105 & followed by M 205

PREP BEGAN

1st 50/50% SET

50/50%

50/50%

ANOTHER 50/50 AREA SET FRONT FENDER

50/50%

50/50%

al oxidation removed

but some RIDS & cut need additional passes to bring the level down

ta da

REMEMBER BEFORE

Now AFTER M105 & M205

DOOR HANDLE AREA BEFORE

now..better than new

 FRONT BONNET 50 /50

ROOF 50/50%

BEFORE RIGHT TOP OF SIDE FENDER BETWEEN HOOD

BEFORE

AFTER m105

after m 205 & complete restorations

some pics

JUST BEFORE RUBBER HITs THE ROAD AGAIN

remember before

paint look so dull & unattractive

if this ride where to send for repainting

the rest would not be of value to both the viewer & detailer

NOW THE LEFT SIDE RESTORED DETAIL

remember

AFTER REAR BONNET

remember the mask of zoro?

before

AFTER FRONT LEFT PANEL

do u remember the story of a frog who managed to jump up to the high throne & crown the KING in his kingdom

there was a challenge for the frog nation to find the next king....any forgs that managed to jump double the height & land on the thrones should crown as the next king & everyone jumps & failed & try & out

but then came a hard core frog & jumps...he reached

later he was interviewed, the reporter felt very upset, cos the Newly crown KING refuse to speak, later to all surprise, he was deaf...cos the rest of the frog tells each other there is no way you can reach & all belive

NOW the moral of the story & this detailing post ...is

it takes a deaf frog to succeed...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !

thanks for viewing yet another of my detailing tales & i thank you for walking thru with me & I hope all my post will strengthen your detailing knowledge & equipe to face your quest

Incredible job. That paint now looks like it has been well cared for and never parked outside since new. I'm amazed that you were able to remove all the keyed marks.

If they catch the person that vandalized the car is your country the one that sentences them to be caned? I bet that would cut down on the teenage punks keying cars in this country too.

Well done! I can't imagine how long that would've taken even with a rotary..too much damage to begin with.

Whoa...KC bro...really admire your talent and determination. Really great job and well done!

That CRV now even looks better than my 5 years old family car

Guess is not that easy to polish a car by adjusting the rotary speed and so on. Would love to get one and try out according to your instructions on the speed.

Do post up when you are having a detailing class. Have adi missed previous ones.

    Wow.

I look through these Pro details every single day, and I see a lot of excellent work being done by a lot of folks here. But, rarely do you see REAL paint damage like this. There is a difference between car wash brush swirls and having your vehicle vandalized with a key or rock or something.

That is a supreme job KC !! I would not hesitate to take my daily driver to you anyday.
... Because your vehicle deserves it too
